VTech Video & Audio Monitor RM7766HD

Terrible baby monitor - one of my biggest regrets not going for the cubo or nanit pro which are expensive but not that much more than this one. Works ok but randomly disconnects at times, picture quality is low compared to many others on the market around the same price point. Mobile app is okay but my biggest gripe is that my parent unit just stopped charging within less than a year. Thankfully the mobile app can still work without it and if I plug in and hold it at just the right angle I can get it to charge for a few minutes which is enough to re-connect when it occasionally disconnects… only a matter of time before it completely dies on me though I think, rendering this product completely useless and not a good longer term investment.

First one we bought had a defective screen. To their credit, supplier provided a new one. Product works well from an audio and video perspective, decent night mode. Moderate range, maybe 10-15 metres before patchy. My biggest gripe is the screens kick stand which is silly, always falls over, just an odd little design. All in all, still recommend

I beg you DO NOT BUY this monitor it has caused me so much stress and anger. I am tech savvy and this is a piece of rubbish barely works in direct mode when literally next to each other and hardly works in wifi mode. Get something else

I bought This in prep for our new baby arrival, once set up it worked for a day and then was unable to connect. Contacted baby bunting and was directed to vtech, they sent me a scratched secound hand refurb unit and it wouldn’t connect either. Avoid this brand at all costs

Awful, for the price it should work… that’s all I ask for! Screen has died, we have to smack it for it to turn on… Pile of *%#+

Night vision is a joke. Daytime works fine but when it's dark in the room the night vision is basically useless. We compared it to a friends $40 from amazon and that works 10x better.

We got ours 11 months ago (Dec 2023) and have had no issues at all. Night view isn't that great but we usually have a night light on anyway. It does lag a little but only by a second or 2. We don't use the phone app option much if at all, but it still works. We only live in a smallish apartment but it works from the opposite end. We've used it everyday for hours at a time and no faults at all.

Terrible monitor and display! Completely pixelated and even on the app on the phone. My child looks basically blurry it’s not a clear picture at all. It lags also. In the process of looking for a new monitor as this is completely not worth it!!

Working out the wifi was impossible so im only able to use if the monitor features. Should cone with a mounting option that isnt drilling into the wall. The pictures is pretty clear and I like the camera rotation feature wothout having to manually move it. The battery doesnt last long maybe 7 hours before needing to charge. Not worth the price

Can’t believe we paid so much money for this 😭 3 months in and the battery on the monitor keeps saying low and dying if it’s not connected to power. For the price the image is definitely not great! I don’t recommend

Purchased but would not work, was difficult to set up and monitor needed to be close to the camera which is counterintuitive. Ended up returning and getting a google nest hub which does the job.

I am now on my 3rd one of these monitors and they are HORRIBLE! The first two the temperature feature faulted and continually told me the baby's room was super hot and would beep all the time! It continually randomly drops out of range, even when we were living in a small 2-bedroom apartment and is no better if you put it on the wifi. The image is super clear with the light on in the baby's room but who sleeps with the light on??? When it is light's out you can barely make out the image. Worst of all, when I purchased this system originally it was sold to me that I could add a 2nd camera when it came to us adding to our family, I have since been told the system I was sold cannot have a second camera added to it. For a unit that isn't exactly cheap its rubbish. Lastly, the stand is so flimsy that it's broken on 2/3 that I had and now has to sit flat on our side tables. I would never buy this again and now need to invest in another system for baby 2 after so much stuffing around with this one!

Absolutely horrific monitor! First one just stopped working in the middle of the night with no warning so we woke up to the baby screaming not sure how long for!! And received a replacement, great we thought. No. Within LESS than 3 weeks required the ‘update’ pressed ok and hasn’t turned on since ABSOLUTE RUBBISH do NOT buy this Brand monitor

We are on our second monitor- the first one just stopped connecting and working, this was after us always having problems with it (wouldn’t pick up sound or movement well at all/notifications just stopped working etc). The process to exchange was quick and pain free and I was hopeful that we always just had a dodgy one but the second one is just as useless as the first. My child can roll over and the camera doesn’t pick it up or sometimes I can walk into the room and it would register for example. Buy another monitor.
