VTech Video & Audio Monitor with 2 Cameras RM5766HD

I had my baby monitor swapped under warranty but it’s not advertised anywhere that this is actually version 2 and unfortunately it seems they’ve taken away a lot of options and settings with this new version. The biggest annoyance I now have is there is no VOX setting, which meant the monitor would be silent unless my child was crying and it would turn on and alert me. Instead it now continuously plays all night meaning I can hear white noise playing, and any small sound my child makes which is keeping me up all night! I can’t believe they took away this feature! Very disappointing :(

We bought this to monitor both our children at night time, we have since come to learn that audio only comes from the selected camera when using split screen mode. So have woken up to 1 of our children crying uncontrollably because we weren’t alerted through the monitor they had woken. Super disappointed as we now have to purchase a new monitor and wasted money.

Do not buy, battery life was terrible from the start being about 4-5 hours. After owing for almost 3 years battery life is non-existent with the battery dying after only 10 minutes when taken off charge. Contacted vtech and they don't care.

Within 2 years of owning this product I have had ongoing issues. From the parent monitor screen blurring, camera consistently turning itself off and disconnecting within minutes, parent monitor battery instantly low even having being on charge overnight. I'm not even confident the image isn't frozen even during the minimal times it's actually functioning properly.

Have been pretty happy but the sound has gone out of the mother unit after two years so can’t complain. The app is ok but getting the playback from movement notifications is really painful. A lot could be done to improve the app

While this camera works relatively well as a single camera, we brought it to use the double camera and split screen option. I've just found out that the audio will only sound from one camera while on split screen. So we have to choose which child to listen out for at night. Sort of defeats the purpose of having the split screen doesn't it!? Other negatives are; taking forever to turn on, delay in audio/ picture, connection drops out every now and then and alerts you with a beeping (which is horrible in the middle of the night).

I’ve returned this product three times! Ive had numerous issues. Its an expensive product and no worth the money.

The light is very handy for tending to baby at night without wanting to turn a bright lamp on. Being able to move the camera is also very handy. But the picture quality isn’t great and often looks completely pixelated or the footage lags. The monitor also often takes a long time to connect to the camera and you have to be pretty close for it to connect. Overall, it’s good enough, but definitely not worth the price in my opinion.

The delay sucks, and I'm not using wifi just it's own connection. It's like 3 full seconds off. Also with both cameras on, you only get sound out of one selected camera. I wasn't aware until I was having dinner & I heard my newborn screaming bc apparently my toddler's room was the only one we get sound out of. In patrol mode it's about 10 seconds each one so I might miss hearing my toddler call out for me. For the money I spent on it, it's really useless for what I need.

It works great as intended. The use of local wifi and remote viewing through internet is fantastic for keeping multiple eyes on the baby. Screen is decent size and does the job well. Due to wifi connection, we have barely had any drop-outs in connection. Sometimes when initially connecting, it may take a few seconds longer but once connected it works well.

The range and battery life is amazing. Picture quality on night vision is poor. I've had 5 monitors now after being replaced. Vtech replace no dramas at all. There's not such thing as perfect and this is far from it.

Video quality is pretty average, the option to "talk through cameras" doesn't work well/if at all

Camera night vision is disappointing. We can't make out our newborns face in the image to tell if she's awake or asleep. Expected a clear view but alas no luck there. White noise sounds are a bit tinnie too.

Absolutely love these... being able to have two pictures on the one monitor is a blessing... as we have two little ones with special needs we can have one video on them & the other on their equipment showing us their bodily stats which is very important for us to monitor... It was a tiny bit frustrating to set up at first as once we tried to connect the second camera the other one would drop out but perserverance paid off & no other problems in the few months we've had these... Highly recommend
