Excellent clock for toddlers- starts the training of time and sleep patterns

My boys love watching the owl fall asleep and have stayed in their room until the owl wakes up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Groclock is a good way to introduce wake times to your child. It has a light up dial which provides a countdown until wake-up time. This happened by stars disappearing over time. Once all the stars are gone from the dial, it changes to wake up mode. Positives of the product - the screen has different brightness settings so you can adjust it to fit the sleep environment. As the child gets older, you can use the alarm function. The screen is LED so energy consumption is low. The Groclock also has a demo mode that you can use to explain the clock to your child. Downsides for us - I didn't think how to use the product particularly self-explanatory. I did need to read all the instructions multiple times to set it up. For those with dexterity issues, this might not be the best product for them. The product also didn't work for us as there wasn't a plug socket in the right place in the room. A rechargeable battery powered product would be better for us. I noticed a discrepancy in the product booklet. This states the power cable is USB to micro USB but this is not that cable that we received. The cable we received was suitable for the product so I think it was just the wrong booklet that was provided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent the Tommee Tippee Groclock as I am a product tester for Tommee Tippee. I was excited to be chosen for this test as I was debating whether to buy my 23-month-old son one, so I jumped at this product test when I saw it. My son is very good at going down at nighttime. However, he has a habit of waking very early!! I was really hoping that I could teach him when it was an acceptable time to wake up in the mornings especially now going into Spring with the lighter mornings. It was very easy to set up, instructions in the manual were very clear and simple (If I can set it, anyone can!) Usually, I give anything technical to my partner for him to set up, but he was away on a work trip when this arrived, so I gave it ago and managed to set it up successfully which was a win to begin with! Once set up you then activate it into sleep mode, you just must remember to put the owl to sleep each night for this to work. This doesn't happen automatically. My son is good with knowing animals/colours and instantly said "owl" when he saw it light up blue with an owl on for bedtime, and I explained that blue means bedtime. Its great visual for toddlers. I had set wake up for 7am (optimistic I know) at this time in the morning the clock would turn yellow owl for wake up. However, we never actually got to see this until after my son had breakfast the following day as he was still up at 5am and completely ignored his new clock... There is the option to set this for naps in the daytime, but as my son takes naps at different times of the day depending on our schedule, we didn't bother setting it for day naps, just bedtime and wake up. I really love the concept and I wanted to love the product as I was hoping it would teach my little one that blue was bed and yellow was wake up if nothing else. However, I did notice that the light is very bright and lit up his room quite significantly. I made a note to make sure I dimmed this the following night. I dimmed it down to number 2 setting, and it was still very bright. My son sleeps in completely black out room and any light disturbs him, so this is why I scored it 4/5 stars as even the lower dim setting it was still very bright. If it could be completely dimmed, then this would work a lot better for us. As well as this the display screen shows the time, but this is very small to read. I feel the time could have a bigger display and, it’s a shame that no plug is provided either.

It is easy to use, clear and fits perfect in a child’s nursery/bedroom. I love the different features and I feel it will only become more and more useful as my daughter gets older and more aware. I love this clock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter asked every night to put the owl to sleep so she understands it’s bedtime. We haven’t managed to only get out of bed when the owl wakes up but the early morning have improved. It’s worth it in my opinion. Happy toddler.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this clock, it is simple to use, doesn't take up too much space and isn't too bright. My son likes the cute owl so that's a nice feature. At the moment I don't use it as a sleep training clock for my child, he has no interest in that right now but it is handy for me to keep track of how long he has been asleep as the symbols count down. It is great that it has an option to just display the time and set an alarm, it will be handy when my child gets a little older. The biggest issue I have with this clock is that it has to be plugged in all night. I would prefer if it was rechargeable just because it is designed for young children, it would be safer. It would also be nice if the buttons weren't so loud, sometimes I need to set the clock when my son is already asleep but it is so loud every time I press a buttton that I just don't bother.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3 & 4 year old boys love their new clock, they've always been one for waking and wanting to get up really early, so I was hoping this was going to help with that. Unfortunately my 3 year old just ignores the clock but it definitely helps my 4 year old not get up so early in the morning. It's simple for them to understand day & night with the different colours and they love seeing the owl on the clock. It's really easy to set up, my only dislike is having the have it plugged in as it just means another loose wire in their room, I think I would have preferred it to be battery to be charged up but still it doesn't stop us using the product in hope for my 3 year to start paying more attention to it too!

However it’s a lovely item, my kids loves it and it’s helping them in waking up in the morning and falling asleep in evening time when colors are changing and the owl is falling asleep. The only issue is that it’s not possibile to use it with batteries because it has cable to put in a socket.

Works fantastic for our 2.5year old early waker. Would recommend giving it a go.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gro clock is being used within my toddlers room to help her understand the difference between bedtime and being awake - the light change is such a good help with her understanding as well as being a night light. The orange and blue are calming which is a benefit of the light. Setting an alarm is a great benefit for the parents as this helps with being able to set a routine for little ones plus the idea of the gro clock being able to be connected to the app is another benefit of the parents so that the children are able to understand that it’s bed time without being disturbed. Highly recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing product, my son used to sleep through the night and wake up at a reasonable time, however since my youngest was born he really started to struggle and started to wake up through the night again and was waking up at 4 am. Since introducing the clock he has been sleeping through and not waking up early. He gets so excited to go bed at night now as we look at the clock and count all the numbers. He knows once it's yellow it's morning and blue it's still bed time , it's so easy for kids to understand. Also I am not very good with technology but it is so easy to set up , it took me less then 5 minutes to set up. I'm happy with the design however maybe having different options would be good. The only thing I didn't like that it only comes with usb and no adaptor plug , so I had to order one , would be nice if it came with one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tommee tippee gro clock is a fantastic item for sleep training. My little boy absolutely loves the owl and the character has become a massive part of his sleep routine. It has an option for an audible alarm which he loves for when he has to get up for pre school, it wakes him up happy and excited for his day. The colour changes also helps him on days where he doesn’t use the alarm as he knows it’s time to wake up and even with the clocks going forward and daylight changes outside he’s not aware and uses his clock always. Blue is a very calming colour for bedtime and is also a fantastic night light. The orange change of colour is an exciting wake up mood set to the bedroom. At pre school they are learning digital clock number readings and it’s a perfect addition to help him continue this learning at home. The design of the clock aesthetically goes well in any bedroom design and I would recommend this product to every parent to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter has really taken to this product straight away and enjoys going to bed at the same time as "Olly the Owl". She understands that when Olly is blue it's quiet time and when he's orange it's time to get up. Each night we watch Olly fall to sleep before she goes to bed herself. She knows to stay quiet so she doesn't wake Olly up. The clock is really simple to use and only has a couple of settings before you can use it. I also really like the simplicity of the design and animations so it's not seen as a toy or something to be entertained by.

I love the little owls on the display and I cannot wait for him to be old enough to understand the lighting system.
