    Absolutely love it!

    by

Bought this for our son when he was less than a week old after I was finding I could not relax at night no mattwr what due to some intense anxiety about sids that had come from no where (I was worried with my eldest but this was a whole new level). I now look back and wonder if this was mama instinct as my son was later diagnosed with laryngomalacia and was having stridor AND some apnoeas in his sleep. It is such a breath of fresh air, suddenly I felt like it was okay for me to go to sleep at night. Only thing I will say is it means I can’t use my cosleeper as a co sleeper because if the cosleeper is against my bed, the sense 7 picks up our movements and doesn’t register when he is not in the cot.

The most reassuring baby item ever!

    by

Bought this due to overwhelming fear of sids (both myself and my brother had respiratory/cardiac arrests as babies) and I swear to god the night we first put this in place was the first night I got actual sleep and not that weird half awake sleep where you’re just waiting for something to go wrong. I love the reassurance of the flashing light indicating the monitor is detecting movement and breathing and I use the daily test to ensure the alarm is absolutely working exactly how it’s supposed to. The reassurance this monitor has brought me is tenfold and I feel like I can finally breathe again!

    Life saving: litterally.

*****Trigger warning***** Distressing story about a near miss involving an infant. I've had this since my daughter was born 2 and a half years ago and last night it saved my 6 month sons life. At 11pm he stopped breathing and was non responsive/ pale with blue lips. The alarm went off and I was able to run into the room and wake him. After patting his back moving him around alot turning lights on and loudly saying his name I was thankfully able to rouse him without CPR. I called an ambulance who came out to check his saturation and make sure he was okay. We are now going to follow up with our GP and health nurse tomorrow. I have no doubt that without the sense 7 I would have lost my son last night. Today I also bought the Oricom Guardian Pro and will use them all together moving forward. I'm so glad I had this product and cannot recommend it enough. It's easy to use, the batteries last forever and it doesn't bother your child. The best part though is you don't need to remember to do anything but click a button when you put your child down.

    Oricom breathing monitor

    by

I bought this for my second child as we didn’t want to be constantly putting a owelet sock on her foot and had read alot of negative reviews about the newest owelet . We have been using it for 4 months now and once my husband set it up we’ve had no issues . We’re using a co sleeper and have one of the breathing pads in the middle of the co sleeper. The pad has a short cord which is attached to the monitor . Once the baby is placed onto the breathing pad you press the button of the monitor which will start flashing green, signalling the alarm is on. When you take the baby out you need to press the button again to turn the alarm off. Only negatives are the light flashes green and is very bright so we have to have it covered . Also need to have the monitor far down at the bottom Of the bed and baby up higher so that they can’t reach the cord .

    More stressful than helpful

    by

I got this product to help relieve some stress of my baby rolling and sleeping on her tummy and they just created more anxiety. They would go off and when we would go in to check, she was perfectly fine.

    Use with caution

    by

I bought this two years ago for my first little one for peace of mind after she had a blue episode and now using it on my second Bub. The only disappointing factor is that you can’t have the fan on as the sensor picks this up as a breath. Being in central Qld this is annoying as we need to use the fans frequently unless the aircon is on and it affects the monitor. Just be cautious of this when purchasing.

I thought it was great piece of mind. However, if the ceiling fan was on low above our bed the alarm wouldnt be activates with him not it the bassinet.

    Peace of mind

    by

I love this monitor. It really gives me peace of mind, I used to wake up and stare in the dark to make sure my baby was breathing, now I can see the light is flashing. I sleep better at night. It doesn't alarm unless I forget to turn it off when I pick him up. The only thing I would change is how bright the light is, it lights up the whole room. The removable arm price from a swaddle fits perfectly over the top so I put this over at night so it dims the light.

    This saved our babies life!

    by

We had this on our gift registry and we are so glad we did! It literally saved our sons life, it went off in the night we ran to find him not breathing properly, a quick grab and pat on his back to get it out (he was silently vomiting and couldn’t get it out) , once he had got it out he was breathing and smiling happy to see us. I would now pay a million dollars for this. It saved his life, and I’m forever grateful.
