Avent Natural Response Teats 2 Pack 1+ Months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Natural Response Nipple Set to test as part of the Stellar Review Panel. My favorite thing about the nipple is that it is soft and stretchy and has a wide base that closely mimics a real nipple and I was hopeful that my mostly breastfed baby would take to it quickly. The shape makes it easy for her to have the flipped out “duck lip” shape with her lips to achieve a complete and comfortable latch. The slow pace of the nipple was good for her even though she is almost 8 months old. I think the slower pace more closely mimics what she experiences at the breast and would help avoid any nipple preference that she might develop with a faster paced nipple flow. I noticed she was able to easily coordinate sucking with pausing to swallow and the no-drip nipple didn’t seem to keep dripping or cause her to choke or gag when she stopped to swallow. It also wouldn’t drip when she would drop the bottle so I think the no-drip tip feature works very well. The nipple is silicone and it is very easy to clean with just your pinky finger or a special commercially made piece to clean bottle nipples. Overall, my baby took to the nipple more easily than I thought she would for rarely taking a bottle and I will keep using the nipple set when she needs to take a bottle in the future.

My baby is currently 9 months old and we do a combination of pumped milk in bottles and nursing. My son struggled with these nipples as it still drips out pretty fast even without sucking. For breastfed babies it needs to be slower so they have to work for the milk more. My lactation consultant also said the slope isn’t great for breastfed babies as it’s not gradual enough. My second problem with them is the leaking. I’m not sure if it’s the collar or what but sometimes it’s fine. Other times it leaks from the collar like crazy. I’ll check if it’s screwed on correctly and it seems like it is but it’s been frustrating at times. I received this nipple set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

My son was able to adapt to the bottle nipple very quickly. The no drip tip made it the bottle feeding experience almost mess free, and allowed my baby to pause to take a breather during feeds without coughing or wheezing. I felt like the wide shape nipple was easy to clean with our bottle brush and felt very natural to my baby who is also still breastfed, the flow seemed fast enough for his stage so he seemed very comfortable!

This nipple works perfectly with the bottle but was a bit too fast for my son to drink comfortably. It would collapse in on itself as he sucked or too much would come out at one time. The shape and contour are very similar to my own so he took to it eagerly, but I think he would need another month or so before he’s ready for the level 3. I do love that it doesn’t drip or spill everywhere if knocked over and it was easy to clean and remained the same after the dishwasher unlike some other brands.

Very glad we did, as this option helped us to navigate a nipple that our baby would comfortably take to bottle as mom returned to work. While the no drip tip works while a bottle is tipped on its side, unfortunately if baby is holding the bottle and throws it, there is still drippage out the nipple by sheer impact force. Our baby did take well to the broad angle of the Avent Natural Response Nipple set, and I appreciate how similar the shape is to a natural breast. Lastly, the broad nipple shape also made it easier to clean, and a fine brush isn't needed if it is run through the dishwasher.

I loved this nipple for our bottles — it was fantastic for paced feeding! My little girl tends to drink her milk quickly and often ends up with an upset stomach, but this nipple really helped. I especially love the no-drip feature; I can turn the bottle upside down and it won’t leak, which is amazing. The wide neck design is another huge plus! Since my baby had oral ties, the wide shape made it much easier for both of us, and it’s also so much easier to clean!

The no-drip tip was wonderful no mess when baby threw her bottle down. Our baby to be very comfortably pause to swallow and breathe while feeding. I believe the flow worked perfectly for our girl she didn't seem frightened with it and definitely wasn't choking so I think it was a perfect fit for her. I really liked the wide shape of the nipple it seemed more of a natural shap and they were easy to clean. I really liked how much my daughter enjoyed them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow what a great nipple set! The I love the no drip tip on this nipple set. It helped reduce wasted milk and messes wherever the baby is feeding. My baby was able to comfortably pause to swallow and breathe while feeding. Since my baby is combo fed I was afraid that the flow of the bottle would not suit my baby but it was the opposite. The pace was perfect, not too much and not too little where she is struggling to get milk out. The wide shape and feel of this nipple set was wonderful. It definitely mimicked the breast which was great for me since my baby was feeding both ways breast fed and also formula milk. The nipple is extremely easy to clean and sterilize. The thing that I like most about this nipple set is that it’s very durable my baby has teeth and it’s still holding up pretty well. I would definitely recommend this product to my family and friends.

They are soft and seemed comfortable for my baby to use, but not too soft that he was able to collapse them easily. These nipples are also really easy to clean. The wide shape allows a brush to get in it to give it a good clean. The wide nipple also allows my baby to latch similarly to when he breastfeeds, which helps to defeat nipple confusion. The only problem with this nipple is that my baby is used to primarily breastfeeding with some bottle use. The medium flow was a bit too fast for him. I was able to pace him easily with these nipples when we realized he was getting too much at a time. Overall I would recommend this product to a friend or family!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently have a 7mo old and the 3 flow nipple is perfect for her. What I loved most about this nipple set is the clear label of the flow. You can’t miss the 3 on the nipple and it makes it so much easier when you’re washing a hundred different parts to find the appropriate one. My little one is also now holding her own bottle and even the 3 flow does not drip when she drops it or misses her mouth. It does not leak but also provides the perfect flow so she does not feel frustrated. My little one is primarily breast fed with the occasional on the go bottle and she took to the wide mouth bottle instantly. There aren’t too many parts to this so it was very easy to clean and not difficult to remove milk residue from the tip. These have become my go to nipples because of how easy it is to identify the nipple flow and the fact that they don’t leak at all even at a higher flow. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nipple shape of the Avent Natural seems to be a good fit for my baby because it is breast-like, which is important to us since we are using a combination of nursing and pumped milk bottles. My 7 month old baby was able to keep up with the flow of the size 3 nipple, however, it was a little faster than what she was used to. This led to her finishing the bottle before getting sleepy, which doesn't work as well for nap times at our house. We ended up going down to a size 2 instead. With either nipple, the no-drip has been so helpful! We are at a "grabby" stage, so the nipple requiring active sucking has cut down on wasted milk and wet, drippy messes. This nipple cleans easily whether by hand or in our bottle washer. As fans of this bottle line, one thing I would like to see is a combo size nipple pack (0,1,2, & 3) so that parents (and babies!) are better able to determine what flow is best for them in one go. This would work better for helping new parents troubleshoot flow rates instead of buying one size and realizing it doesn't work or no longer works; heading to the store or online and needing to remember which size you have vs which size you want to try - which can become a difficult task in the newborn/post-partum haze. I was unsure about trying out this nipple since my son has only tried narrow nipples. After a few tries, he started to take this nipple really well. If you tip the nipple upside down, nothing drips out and so the baby has to work to drink milk. I liked that this was a slower flow nipple since I also breastfeed and I don't want my son to prefer a bottle. However, my son does get frustrated sometimes when drinking from this nipple since it is a slower flow.
